Heritage & Evolution

PRO BOXING IN INDIA

While India has long enjoyed glory in Olympic amateur championships, professional prizefighting previously lacked a unified, codified sanctioning authority. Boxers frequently lacked binding purse guarantees, mandatory neurological medical panels, and international ranking channels.

The establishment of the IPBA in 2015 bridged this divide. Today, through 17 unified national championship belts and certified ringside physician oversight, India is recognized globally as a powerhouse combat sports destination.
